Functional but feels like stepping back in time
My wife jokes that using SLS is like time-traveling to 2006. She's not wrong. But here's the thing — in our small city in Ohio, SLS genuinely has the most active lifestyle community. The club owners list events there, the local couples check it weekly. It's a regional thing. So we grit our teeth through the awful UX because that's where our people are. Hoping newer platforms expand to smaller markets soon.

Legacy platform living on its reputation
SLS was the king of swinger sites for years. Those days are over. The interface is painful to use — tiny fonts, confusing navigation, pop-up ads even for paying members. The certification system (where other couples vouch for you) is a nice idea but easily gamed. That said, the sheer volume of members means you'll find people in even small cities. We use it as a backup, not a primary.

I want to love SLS but it makes it so hard
Every time I try to give SLS another chance, something frustrating happens. Last month: lost a conversation thread because the messaging system glitched. Before that: our profile photos were randomly flagged and removed with no explanation. The customer support response? A form email three weeks later. The only reason this isn't a 1-star review is that we've actually met some amazing couples through SLS over the years. The people are great. The platform is terrible.

SLS has the numbers but not the experience
We've been on SLS since 2015 and it's showing its age badly. The member database is massive — probably the biggest in the US — but a huge percentage of profiles are inactive or abandoned. We still keep our account because some couples are only on SLS, but we've been exploring newer platforms. The SLS app barely functions (constant crashes, slow loading, notifications that don't work), and the desktop site looks like a MySpace page. They need a complete overhaul.
